We Moved to Victoria to Follow a Dream

The following story was submitted by one of our clients who has graciously given us permission to share it with you. It has been slightly edited for clarity, but otherwise contains his own words about his experience with our team.

WeMovedToVictoria-Dream.jpgMy wife and I moved out to Victoria B.C. in June 2015 to follow a dream. We left behind our family, friends and a beautiful house to work for a medical services company that was employing me to design and implement a respite/resource centre for all functional ranges and ages. By the middle of July, we sold our house back in Winnipeg and began to search for a house around Victoria.

We found the house of our dreams, submitted a bid and our offer was accepted. The only problem was that, unknowingly to us, the transfer of funds in Manitoba works differently than in B.C. It took over 2 months for the funds to be transferred from Manitoba to our financial institution in Victoria. All conditions were removed for the purchase of the house, and unless we came up with a substantial amount of funds in a short period of time we could be sued by the homeowners. We were at wits end and tried everything we could with our former and present financial institutions as well as with the lawyers from Manitoba and B.C.

Finally our Real Estate agent, who also went above and beyond, informed us that he knew of someone from Auxilium Mortgage Corporation who may want to help us. This man was described as a philanthropist who, more than anything, loves to help good people in tough situations. I proceeded to give Kam Brar a call.

He didn't know me at all, but took the time out of his busy schedule to listen in detail to my story. He invited my wife and I to come down to his business with our 5-year-old daughter. The staff there were all so welcoming and genuinely showed care and respect. Kam, being a family man, first took the time to make our daughter feel welcome and put a movie on for her. He then took the time to fully hear our story and showed true compassion and caring for us and our situation. My wife and I have worked in health care for over 25+ years each and can tell who is genuine and who is there for just a pay cheque.

In the hour of our greatest need, when the world seemed to be falling apart on us, Kam and his entire staff worked 24/7 to assist us and in 2 days’ time secured the funds that we needed to purchase the house without any repercussions. In this day and age, where society seems to be concerned with personal gain and greed, it is truly heartwarming to know that there still are people like Kam and his staff out there!

I would, without hesitation, refer anyone to Kam Brar and Auxilium Mortgage Corporation. Throughout our journey in buying our house, selling and relocating back to Winnipeg, Kam and his staff were in constant contact with us and were truly concerned about our well-being. If anyone is deserving of such an award, it is no doubt in our mind Kam Brar and all the staff at Auxilium!
